Uniqueness of the United Arab Emirates practices is its unprecedented scale of urban conservation efforts over a short period of time. The book adopts a methodology of comparative discussions to clarify the approaches adopted in dealing with history in the city. Fieldwork practices are drawn from Egypt as a land of diversified ancient history. and from Australia and the United States as good examples of recent trends for urban empowerment through the creation of «historic urban themes».
